Why it's Better to Drive - Reason # 37

While in Phoenix we learned that they do not have an abundance of local cuisine. Well, that is what we were told by the locals anayway. In Atlanta, you look for great barbeque. In Texas, the perfect steak. NYC, the perfect slice of pizza or bagel. But in Phoenix, uh, well they have chains.

So we stopped to fill up with gas and I ran in to ask the attendant where we could find a restaurant. He pointed down the road and said, hang a right and you will come across many restaurants.

As we drove, and enjoyed the scenery, I saw the glow of red neon. Stop the car! We have arrived! This is where we are dining tonight!

When you don't drive, you don't find little gems like this one:

If you have never had an In-N-Out burger, the next time you find yourself in Arizona or west, keep your eyes peeled. They have great burgers and yummy shakes. And, two people can get out of their for less than $20, including a t-shirt, sans hearburn. Good deal!

I have really enjoyed reading your blog. I myself love to roadtrip, though I don't get to do it as often as I like. I have heard that In-N-Out burgers are "the best" from many different people...I guess I'll have to make it out west at some point and give it a shot!

Your blog is really fun to read, and makes me want to go on a road trip bad. I love to travel, so I may have to check out some of these places soon. I definately want to try In-n-Out Burgers!

um...

in-n-out
is a godsend.

really.

i don't know if i've told you or not, but i do a lot of driving. a lot.

most my family is in vegas so i drive solo every year. in-n-out is pretty much the best place to get burgers. they're everywhere there...kind of like starbucks.

but, yes... i share your passion.

my cousins worked there for a while. they were corporate trainers and would travel around to open new locations.

i have a t-shirt as well.

until next time

I took a trip to California with a friend last year. They wouldn't let me leave until I went to In-N-Out. I'm not really one for burgers and fries, but it was delicious. The guys that I was with knew all the "secret" combinations that you could order. We got quite a few stares of awe and questions after we ordered bizarre menu choices.

I found that Hardee's in California is also amazing. What we have here is sad in comparison. Too expensive for too little meat and toppings.

Nick-I gathered you drove alot! Very cool--what route do you take to Vegas and how long s that drive? We may have to doa straight shot to Vegas someday. I have an In-n-out t-shirt too! I may just have to put t on and model it! And OMG the shakes!!

Denae-I will have to take your word on Hardees. I grew up with them in MN and uh, yuck.
